Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and dynamic L3-Chapter Leader (Hardware Engineer) to lead and mentor a team of engineers in developing, maintaining, and improving hardware systems and solutions. As the Chapter Leader, you will be responsible for managing the technical and developmental aspects of hardware engineering projects, ensuring that your team consistently delivers high-quality work. You will also play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and growth within your team while ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals and product objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead a group of hardware engineers, guiding them in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of hardware systems. Provide mentorship, training, and career development opportunities to your team.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert in hardware engineering, providing guidance and technical solutions across a range of hardware projects. Ensure best practices are followed and innovative solutions are developed.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of hardware engineering projects. Ensure that all milestones are met on time, within scope, and budget. Monitor team progress, identify potential roadblocks, and mitigate risks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, quality assurance, product managers, and designers to ensure seamless integration and alignment of hardware and software components.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve hardware development processes, tools, and methodologies. Drive efficiency improvements and encourage adoption of new technologies and techniques.
- Technical Documentation: Ensure that all designs, specifications, and engineering processes are properly documented and adhere to industry standards.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues, helping your team troubleshoot and resolve problems that arise during design, testing, or production.
- Resource Management: Help with resource planning and allocation to ensure the team has the necessary skills, tools, and support to succeed.
- Innovation & Strategy: Stay current with the latest hardware engineering trends, technologies, and best practices. Contribute to the strategic direction of the hardware engineering department and lead initiatives to integrate new technologies or improve existing products.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in hardware design, circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded systems. Strong knowledge of hardware testing, simulation tools, and design software.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a technical team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changes in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
